Note: Becca is 12yr old mustang cross mare with the absolute SWEETEST personality. She runs to the fence to meet you. We even saw her gallop along the fenceline calling out to her foster dad as he drove up his driveways. She has such a happy spirit and is just truly excited to be alive.

Becca hasn't thrived with riding. She'd prefer to be a pasture friend and she is a great one. She is low on the pecking order and absolutely never looks for trouble. She would be a great friend and babysitter for another horse.

Because Becca didn't have a ton of handling in the past, she needs an adopter who has at least a basic foundation of horsemanship. Becca needs the type of handler who can tell her new things or things she may be unsure about are safe and ok.

You will absolutely fall head over heels for this silly girl and the little nicker she makes when she sees you walking her direction.

Here is what Bill had to say about his experiences with her so far and his hopes for her future: 

"She would be an excellent 4H pony down the road or would serve as a reliable everyday using horse for a rider on the smaller side. Despite her fear of everything, she has shown to be extremely loving. Once settled in, she WANTS to be with you, just hanging out. She has NEVER shown to be dangerous, just very unsure at first.

She currently leads, loads, ties, lunges and yields. She is beginning to fine tune her gaits while lunging and is picking it up quick! She is also in the first steps of learning collection and headset.

She is still spookish and gets unsure when being introduced to new things, however she settles down FAST and is becoming very willing to learn!

Without a doubt she will make some an excellent partner when she’s done with training. In the extremely short time she’s been here she has went from not being able to be caught, let alone able to be haltered, to approaching you and dropping her head for a halter. She has went from being sporadic when taking direction to being in control of her own emotions and understanding that searching for an answer will always get her the result she wants.

I am watching as over a decade of bad habits are starting to be replaced with willingness, being reactive has turned into thinking and being afraid has transformed into being aware. She will without a doubt get through to the other side and will make anyone a great addition to their herd.

Whether that be as a companion animal, 4H pony as previously mentioned, lesson pony, being used for pony camps, she LOVES being groomed and petted and just enjoys relaxing company in general. She will be one you’re able to take in any direction and do anything with."
