Note:  MEET RILEY THE LITTLE HINNY....we renamed her after one of the kind folks who helped us catch her and transport her.

Her owner asked us to take her so that she could get the hoof care she needs and get more consistent care and attention. We were happy to be able to help and have been working to fit her in for several months.

Riley's current foster family had this to say for her introduction, written from her point of view.

"Hi! Some of my quality are that I lead well from front and left and will even lunge that direction a little. I'm short patience and have a very good defense and flight plans that I know how to use (old man is slow). But I like being around other animals and I will tell you 'hello' and 'feed me' when you come to barn. I can be caught in a stall fairly easily.

For those who think I look funny or different that's because I'm a Hinny, which is a cross between a female donkey and a male horse (pony). That is the reverse of a mule. I'm about 42 inches and roughly 600lbs."

Riley is halter broke. But she has been running around essentially unhandled for quite a while. So she is really only going to be adoptable to someone with long-ear experience. She is cute, happy to see people and overall reasonable considering her lack of handling. 

She does best with people that she's had a chance to get to know. She's getting comfortable with her fosters...but wasn't thrilled about seeing the vet for the first time.
